TotalEnergies Rolls Out Seamless Vehicle Ordering with Headlight
Driving efficiency for 1,400 employees across all roles
When both white- and blue-collar employees at TotalEnergies requested access to company cars through their cafeteria plan, leadership agreed to make it happen. But with a total population of 1,300 eligible employees, the decision raised an important question: how to manage the added administrative workload and the inevitable stream of driver questions, without overloading HR and payroll?
A smart solution for a complex challenge
To ensure a smooth experience for employees while keeping operations lean, TotalEnergies turned to Headlight. We were chosen for two key reasons:
- Expertise in-house: our team understands every nuance of vehicle ordering and operational lease.
- Automation that works: our platform streamlines administrative processes end-to-end, from request to delivery.
On top of that, Headlight’s built-in digital assistant and communication module handle incoming driver questions in a structured, transparent way—keeping the inbox clear and employees informed without adding manual workload.
The onboarding went very smoothly. The Headlight platform is very intuïtive, everything is self-explanatory, and there are interactive videos and a responsive support team to help where needed. Would recommend!

Smooth implementation ahead of schedule
The go-live deadline was set for December 2024. Thanks to close collaboration between TotalEnergies, Deloitte, and Headlight, the project moved faster than expected. By November 2024, first tests were already running successfully. And in December—right on schedule—the first vehicle order was placed.
This early success was a clear sign that the system was ready to support the full employee base.
Results that speak for themselves
Since the launch, hundreds of vehicles have been ordered through the Headlight platform. Employees enjoy a transparent, self-service ordering process they can access anytime, anywhere, whether they work behind a desk or on-site.
For HR and procurement, the benefits are just as clear:
- Time savings through automation of repetitive tasks
- Fewer manual interventions thanks to the digital assistant
- Better communication with employees via the integrated messaging system
Why it works
The success of this project comes down to three things:
- Collaboration: Integration with the Deloitte MBMC platform played a key role in ensuring the cafeteria plan experience for employees was smooth.
- Technology: Headlight’s intuitive platform makes complex benefit programs simple to manage.
- Employee experience:Â By making the process easy and transparent, adoption has been smooth across the board.
Driving forward
With hundreds of cars already ordered and satisfied drivers on the road, TotalEnergies has transformed what could have been an administrative headache into a streamlined, digital-first experience.
